Match - Ups

A match - up is simply when you find a sale on an item, and you use a coupon to make it an even better deal. So lets just do some examples so you can see what I'm talking about.

Say for instance you're flipping through the sale ad for Walgreens. You see that they have Oral-B Toothbrushes on sale for $1.99 which is an okay price. Well then you remember that your insert had a coupon for $1 off any Oral-B Toothbrush. That just made it $0.99! Which is a really good price!

Okay, lets say now you find Olay Body Wash on sale in the CVS ad for $2.99 a bottle. Go back to your coupons and you see that you have a coupon for $1.50 off any Olay Body Wash. So now that Body Wash is only $1.49 a bottle! Good deal!

Match - Ups, A Step Further

Okay, so now that you have the general idea for a match - up, let's take it one step further. One thing most people don't realize, is that you can use a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon together on the same item! This is referred to as "stacking" your coupons, and is honored at most stores as long as it doesn't state otherwise on the coupon itself. For example some coupons might state "can not be used in conjunction with any other offer" so those most likely you won't be able to stack.

For instance, Ritz Crackers are on sale at Target two boxes for $4.00. If you have a coupon for $1 off two boxes of Ritz Crackers printed from the Target.com website, then, you also have a coupon from the Sunday paper for $1 off two boxes of Ritz Crackers. These two coupons can be used together in the purchase. This is because when you use a manufacturer's coupon, the store sends it off to the manufacturer of the product for reimbursement. With store coupons, the store takes care of the coupon itself. So those Ritz Crackers at two for $4.00 just became two boxes for $2.00! Which is only $1 a box!!!

So lets do another example with "stacking" coupons.
Look back at that deal with the Oral-B toothbrushes at Walgreens. They were $1.99 on sale. Then you have your coupon for $1 off from the manufacturer. Well now lets say that in the Walgreens ad there was a coupon for $0.99 off any Oral-B toothbrush! So you use both coupons along with the sale price of the item and get free toothbrushes! YES! Totally FREE! No cost to you!
